RIPLEY, Miss. (WTVA) - A crash Wednesday night near Ripley killed a 26-year-old man and injured at least one other person.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol (MHP), an SUV was traveling west on Highway 4, east of Ripley, when it ran off the road and hit an embankment.
Four people, including the driver, were in the SUV, MHP Sgt. Marvin Baird said.
One passenger, identified as 26-year-old Stephen Daniel of Ashland, was killed.
A second passenger was not injured, but a third passenger was injured.
The crash has been classified as a fatal hit-and-run; the driver is still at large, Baird said.
MHP is investigating the crash.
