GRENADA, Miss. (AP) — A north Mississippi coroner faces more charges accusing him of selling unlicensed funeral plans.

Attorney General Jim Hood announced Tuesday that Grenada County Coroner Eddie "Skeeter" Robinson III was arrested Monday on a 14-count indictment. The indictment accuses Robinson of illegally collecting more than $14,000 from 2004 to 2017 on sales of prepaid funeral plans.

It's unclear if Robinson has a lawyer.

He's charged with conspiracy, embezzlement, false pretense, insurance fraud, and wire fraud.

Mississippi licenses sales of prepaid funerals. The secretary of state's office sanctioned Robinson years ago for unlicensed sales and began the current investigation.

If convicted, Robinson faces up to 80 years in prison, $110,000 in fines, plus restitution.

The 51-year-old Robinson was indicted in May in DeSoto County on six counts accusing him of unlicensed sales.
