Columbus police investigate stabbing incident

One person is hospitalized and another sits behind bars following a stabbing incident Friday afternoon, according to Chief Fred Shelton.

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) - One person is hospitalized and another sits behind bars following a stabbing incident Friday afternoon, according to Chief Fred Shelton.

It happened shortly after 3 p.m. in the 1700 block of 7th Avenue North and Railroad Street. 

Shelton confirmed the victim is being treated for non-life threatening injuries. He also said the suspect has been arrested. 

The suspect and victim are related, according to Shelton.
