Columbus police are investigating after reports of shots fired in the city.

COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) - Columbus police are investigating after reports of shots fired in the city.

Officers responded to 6th Avenue South Sunday night, police said.

They are searching for a subject described as a black male, wearing jeans and no shirt. 

There were no reported injuries. 

Mississippi University for Women issued a W Alert at midnight Monday.
