COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) - A Columbus nightclub will reduce its hours and make other improvements after a shooting incident during the weekend nearby.
Columbus Police Chief Fred Shelton says he met with the operators of the Club Elevation Monday.
The club has agreed to close one hour earlier, install more lighting and clear brush around the building. They have also agreed to put up signs saying "no loitering" and "no trespassing."
Police say two people were injured in the shooting on Saturday, May 5 across the street from the club.
Shelton says the city council will look at allowing the club to return to its original hours once the improvements are made.
