COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) - Supporters of one catholic school in Columbus celebrated the institution’s expansion on Thursday.
Administrators at Annunciation Catholic School held a ceremony to show off new additions.
The all-day celebration began with a ribbon-cutting ceremony.
Principal Joni House said the school now has six new classrooms, computer and science labs, a library and administrative offices.
House said the school had an increase in enrollment for the past nine years.
This is one of the reasons for the expansion.
She also said the new space creates more opportunities to prepare the students for an advanced career.
House said the school averages about 200 students a year. Two-hundred and thirty-two students are currently enrolled.
