CLARKSDALE, Miss. (WTVA) - An officer-involved shooting injured one person in Coahoma County.
The Coahoma County Sheriff’s Office issued a news release Monday morning confirming the shooting happened “during the early morning hours.” The sheriff’s office did not specify what time the shooting happened.
According to the news release, the sheriff’s office and Clarksdale Police executed a search warrant at a home in the 900 block of Pecan Street in Clarksdale.
That’s when the shooting happened.
The sheriff's office said the victim wasn't a law enforcement officer. The victim was transported to a hospital in Memphis, Tennessee.
"This is all the information that we have at this time, as this is still a very active investigation,” the news release reads.
Coahoma County is along the Mississippi River. Clarksdale is approximately 71 miles south of Memphis.
