STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) - A Sunday afternoon wreck killed a woman and injured two other people.
According to the Mississippi Highway Patrol, the collision happened on Highway 50 near Windmill Road in Clay County.
Trooper spokesman Sgt. Derrick Beckom said two vehicles collided head-on.
Fred Kuykendall, 75, of West Point, was driving a Nissan and traveling west on the highway.
Latasha Hayes, 40, of Yazoo City, was driving a Toyota and traveling east.
Seventy-year-old Gail Kuykendall, a passenger in the Nissan, was unrestrained and pronounced dead at the scene, according to Beckom.
Fred Kuykendall and Hayes were injured and airlifted to the hospital in Tupelo.
MHP is investigating the collision.
