JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - Circuit Court Judge Andrew Howorth confirms he plans to retire on June 30.
He is among three judges in the 3rd Circuit District, which covers Benton, Calhoun, Chickasaw, Lafayette, Marshall, Tippah and Union counties.
“As founder of the Third Judicial District Drug Court, he has worked tirelessly to improve lives with profound success. I wish him well in his retirement,” U.S. Rep. Trent Kelly tweeted Monday afternoon.
Howorth said he announced his plans to friends and acquaintances through social media but has not made an official announcement to the governor.
He plans to make that announcement on a date closer to the anticipated retirement.
