COLUMBUS, Miss. (WTVA) - The coroner has released the names of the two individuals who died in a Wednesday night shooting in Columbus.
Police Chief Fred Shelton said the shooting happened in the 100 block of Poplar Street, which is on the east side of the city just off of Alabama Street.
The shooting apparently happened around 9 p.m.
Lowndes County Coroner Greg Merchant identified the deceased victims as Willie Hull, 43, and Tasha Hull, 41, both of Columbus.
Merchant said the shooting happened at Tasha Hull's home.
The couple was married, the coroner added, but they were not living together when the shooting occurred.
According to the police chief, the shooting was triggered by a domestic dispute.
Police believe Willie Hull shot his wife and daughter. The daughter was airlifted to a hospital and remains in critical condition.
Police are working to confirm the cause of Willie Hull's death.
Autopsies will be performed.
