ABERDEEN, Miss. (WTVA) - A pursuit on Tuesday, Oct. 12 landed a man back behind bars in Monroe County.
Deputies arrested Chris Mitchem, 39, following the pursuit which began in Amory and continued through Becker.
According to Monroe County Sheriff Kevin Crook, the 39-year-old fled when deputies tried to stop and arrest him on a warrant for grand larceny.
On Highway 125, Mitchem rammed a deputy’s patrol vehicle, the sheriff went on to say.
Deputies arrested him after his pickup truck broke down.
As a result of the chase, Mitchem now faces additional charges, including aggravated assault on a police officer, felony fleeing, felony malicious mischief, possession of a weapon by a felon and drug possession.
