ALBERTVILLE, Ala. (AP) — Charges aren't expected to be filed against officers in northern Alabama who fatally shot a suspect in a domestic violence call.

News outlets report 34-year-old Thomas Chamblee was identified Thursday as the man shot and killed by officers Monday just outside Albertville.

Officers received a domestic-related call and found Chamblee's wife with injuries including a fractured skull and broken arm. Chamblee had left the home.

His vehicle was later found near another home and officers asked him to come outside.

The sheriff says Chamblee came outside and pointed a gun at officers. He was shot and killed.

His wife's current condition hasn't been released.
