Some residents who live along County Road 361, just south of Calhoun City, were hit hard by a storm early Thursday morning that knocked out their power and destroyed some property.
Residents believe they were hit by a tornado around 4 am on Thursday morning that woke most people in the area.
The storm destroyed 2 sheds that were covering farming equipment and trees had been uprooted and cut in half.
"It came by so fast that you didn't have time to think,” said June Sturdivent, who had her front porch ruined. “I jumped up and opened the back door and got my dogs in the house and we just prayed that we would be safe."
A tornado has not been confirmed to have been in the area, but the National Weather Service will be doing an official survey over the area on Friday.
