GUNTOWN, Miss. (WTVA) - Investigators said a Guntown resident arrived home and found an unknown woman and child in the house.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Department, deputies responded on May 5 to the home on County Road 231.
Arriving home, the homeowner reported seeing an unknown vehicle in the driveway and a woman on the balcony.
The homeowner also reported seeing a small child with the woman.
Deputies arrested the woman, Kimberly Whitehorn of Guntown.
According to the sheriff’s department, the child received medical care at the hospital in Tupelo for facial and bodily injuries.
At the time of her arrest, Whitehorn was on probation with the state corrections office.
She faces burglary, illegal weapon possession, drug possession and four counts of felony child abuse charges.
Whitehorn received a $1 million bond.
