STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) - Don't expect Clemson to be too intimidated when the play Mississippi State at the Hump on Sunday night.
As a member of the ACC, the Tigers have already faced two other No. 1 seeds in the NCAA Tournament this year, Notre Dame and Louisville, and their head coach, Amanda Butler, spend ten seasons at the head coach at Florida before spending last year as an analyst for the SEC Network.
"We didn't get here with a free pass or a guest invitation," said Butler. "We had to earn our way here, and we had to earn our way here through the ACC."
"Amanda has done a great job," said Mississippi State head coach Vic Schaefer. "They're multi-dimensional defensively. The thing that stands out to me, I told her last night when they came off the floor, is they just play hard. I can appreciate that more than anything that anybody does is kids that play hard."
Tip-off on Sunday night is 8 p.m. The winner advances to the Sweet 16.
