JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - The Mississippi Transportation Commission voted to appoint Brad White as the executive director of the Mississippi Department of Transportation (MDOT) beginning July 1.
The Commission unanimously approved the appointment.
White currently serves as the Chief of Staff for Gov. Tate Reeves. He previously served as Chief of Staff for U.S. Sen. Cindy Hyde-Smith, R-Miss., and late U.S. Sen. Thad Cochran, R-Miss.
From 1999 to 2005, he served as assistant to former Central District Commissioner Dick Hall.
As executive director, White will oversee the day-to-day operations of the agency.
He fills the role previously held by Melinda McGrath who retired at the end of March.
