Driver captured after Booneville police chase

A person is in custody following a police chase in Prentiss County.

BOONEVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) - A person is in custody following a police chase in Prentiss County.

The chase started at East Chambers Road and Church Street in Booneville and ended on County Road 5081.

Booneville Police Chief Michael Ramey confirmed the driver of the pursued vehicle lost control and crashed into a wooded area.

The driver was captured and transported to a hospital.

Ramey confirmed the chase started after a patrol officer saw the vehicle driving recklessly.

Prentiss County Sheriff Randy Tolar said sheriff’s deputies assisted police.
