He will instead travel to Michigan, his campaign announced Thursday afternoon. Michigan has the largest number of delegates available among the six states holding presidential contests this coming Tuesday.
According to a campaign news release, Sanders’ campaign will continue to campaign in Mississippi and is sending campaign staff members and surrogates to represent the senator ahead of Mississippi’s primary election on March 10.
Democratic presidential candidate Joe Biden is scheduled to attend a service at a Jackson church Sunday morning.
