BELMONT, Miss. (WTVA) - The police chief of Belmont tested positive for the coronavirus, the town’s mayor announced Monday.
Mayor Buddy Wiltshire said Police Chief Donald Ray Thomas received a call Monday morning that his test resulted in a positive diagnosis.

Thomas is feeling fine and shows no symptoms other than some that are also associated with allergies, the mayor said.
Thomas will remain quarantined for 14 more days.
Wiltshire later confirmed his own test was negative.
