Baldwyn student wins 2019 WTVA Senior Scholarship

WTVA presented its 2019 Senior Scholarship to Micaela Harper of Baldwyn High School.

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - WTVA presented its 2019 Senior Scholarship to Micaela Harper of Baldwyn High School.

She was presented the $1,000 on Friday inside the WTVA studio, alongside representatives from First American National Bank.

Contestants were asked to submit a 2-3-minute video answering the following question:

"Which person in your life has inspired you to make a difference in your community? What kind of legacy have they inspired you to leave?"

Harper said her pastor inspires her, and she wants to be a light in other people’s lives like he is in her life.

She plans to study nursing at Northeast Mississippi Community College in the fall.
