ABERDEEN, Miss. (WTVA) - Two people have been arrested in connection with at least two burglaries in Monroe County.
Monroe County Sheriff Cecil Cantrell says they retrieved a lot of stolen merchandise, including 29 guns. Most of the items were stolen Wednesday, December 6.
The burglaries happened in the southern part of Monroe County in the Strong community.
Less than three hours after the items were stolen, Justin Strong and James Cousins were arrested.
Cousins, 22, of Aberdeen, is charged with the possession of burglary tools, two counts of breaking & entering and two counts of grand larceny.
Strong, 27, is charged with the possession of burglary tools, two counts of breaking & entering, two counts of grand larceny and the possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
"Well I got home around 4:00 and went to open the back door and it was loose," said one victim. "I said, 'oh no, somebody broke in.' I walked to the gun cabinet and it was empty."
