AMORY, Miss. (WTVA) -The Amory Police station is temporarily closed for repairs.
The building has been next to city hall for 21 years, and now it’s getting upgrades.
“We’re redoing all the wood cabinet areas,” Police Chief Ronnie Bowen said. “We’ve had some moisture problems in the past over the course of that time, so we’re replacing that, replacing flooring, replacing ceiling tiles.”
During the closure, people who need assistance at the police station can call inside and an officer will be dispatched to the front to meet them.
The station was recently approved to begin fingerprinting to the public, but now the work has been put that on pause too.
