MONTGOMERY, Ala. (WTVA) - Alabama state troopers investigated seven traffic deaths during the Memorial Day weekend.
The period began Saturday and concluded on Monday.
The deaths occurred in St. Clair, Shelby, Franklin and Tuscaloosa counties.
The state's Marine Patrol Division recorded zero boating and non-boating deaths. Troopers investigated two vessel crashes.
During the same holiday weekend in 2020, marine troopers investigated 10 crashes and four drownings.
Also, between Saturday and Monday, troopers issued 21 DUI citations and five citations for BUI (Boating Under the Influence).
