ABERDEEN, Miss. (WTVA) - Black Friday is two days away and businesses in downtown Aberdeen are preparing for the big day.
Ashley Patterson, the owner of Ashley's Children Boutique and Gifts, said Black Friday is one of the busiest sale days of the year for her store.
She said toys, clothing and accessories bring a big crowd every year, this year starting at 5 a.m.
"People are buying; they're excited,” she said. “They want to get out and wanting to buy something special for whoever."
A few stores down from her store is Henry's of Aberdeen, a longtime establishment in the Monroe County town.
Owner Dianne Hammack said her store is marking down racks for the big sale, and she expects a large crowd for women's apparel.
"We carry a lot of brand names, and we love serving our customers and we're very well located."
Her store will be open from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.
"We value our customers,” Hammack added. “We could not back it without our local and out-of-town customers."
Customers across the nation can also look forward to Small Business Saturday which is held during the Saturday after Thanksgiving.
