Aberdeen police expect to make arrest for shooting

A shooting in Aberdeen wounded a man, and police are searching for the person who is responsible.

ABERDEEN, Miss. (WTVA) - Police are searching for a gunman following a shooting in Aberdeen.

Aberdeen Police Chief Henry Randle says the shooting happened early Monday morning at the Southview Apartments. 

The apartments are located on Hardy Street.

He says the shooting victim, Chico Harris, was shot once in the leg and once in the abdomen.

Harris was later found in the street on Hardy Street.

He was transported to Baptist Memorial Hospital in Columbus for surgery.

Police are trying to determine a motive for the shooting and expect to make an arrest.
