PONTOTOC, Miss. (WTVA) - Churches from across Pontotoc passed out meals on Thursday for the annual "Feeding the 5,000" event.
Volunteers started giving out meals at about 10:00 a.m.
However, volunteers said they started preparations weeks ago.
Pastor Ken Hester of First Baptist Church said the event is all about faith.
Hundreds of cars came through the line at First Baptist Church to pick up a Thanksgiving meal.
Volunteers gave out the meals to people who were shut in or couldn't afford a Thanksgiving dinner.
Hester said they hoped to spread the word and love of Jesus Christ.
Volunteers passed out about 3,200 meals.
