SHANNON, Miss. (WTVA) - Shannon police found a wanted man with counterfeit money on him during his arrest.

Alfred Long, 34, was arrested Friday by Shannon police.

Shannon Police Chief Desiree Kershner says Long had been wanted on a warrant for an incident back in March.

He reportedly lied about being shot back in March. In actuality, Kerschner says another person shot a weapon into the air.

He's also accused of using profanity at an officer on Friday, May 18 at a Dollar General.

During his arrest, officers found two $100 counterfeit bills on him.

He's charged with filing a false police report, possession of counterfeit bank notes and possession of a weapon by a convicted felon.
