UPDATE: Investigation continues into shoe store robbery; no arrests made

Police are still looking for the person or persons responsible for the armed robbery of a shoe store at The Mall at Barnes Crossing.

UPDATE 10/30/17 

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Police are still looking for the person or persons responsible for the armed robbery of a shoe store at The Mall at Barnes Crossing.

As of Monday, no arrests have been made.

Shortly after 7 p.m. on Sunday, October 29, Tupelo police responded to The Shoe Dept. in the mall.

Two employees received minor injuries during the robbery. However, police said there was no indication that any shots were fired.

Police are still working to get a description of the suspect. That description will be released by police when available.

TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - Tupelo police say a shoe store at The Mall at Barnes Crossing was robbed Sunday evening.

Officers arrived at The Shoe Dept., which is near Belk, after 7 p.m. The mall closes on Sundays at 6 p.m.

Captain Chuck McDougald says two employees suffered minor injuries during the holdup.  WTVA's Daniella Oropeza reports seeing one person being placed into an ambulance.  

According to McDougald, there is no indication any shots were fired.

No arrest has been made. Detectives are working to get a description of the robber.
