HATTIESBURG, Miss. (AP) - Authorities say an explosive device found in south Mississippi could date back to the World War II era.
WJTV-TV reports that the device was found in Forrest County this week.
Forrest County sheriff's officials say it was located Tuesday near Camp Shelby.
Authorities say two people were using metal detectors in the area and came across the device. After they contacted the sheriff's office, a bomb squad from Biloxi was called to detonate the device. No injuries were reported.
