NEW YORK (WTVA) - A Fox News poll shows the two main candidates in Alabama for the U.S. Senate are tied, a surprise considering how strong the state has been for Republicans in recent years.
Democrat Doug Jones and Republican Roy Moore each has 42 percent with 3 percent for other candidates and 11 percent undecided.
The poll was taken this week of registered voters in Alabama and comes with a margin of error or plus or minus 3.5 percent.
One part of the poll that stands out is how solid the support is for each candidate. The survey found 42 percent of Moore supporters have reservations about their candidate while only 28 percent of Jones supporters say the same thing about the Democratic nominee.
The general election is December 12 with the winner to fill the seat vacated by U.S. Attorney General Jeff Sessions.
