NETTLETON, Miss. (WTVA) - The Mississippi Public Service Commission will be launching a phone application in November to allow residents to immediately report unwanted telemarketer calls.
The Director of the Public Service Commission Brandon Presley says he believes tons of calls are not reported because of the time the process currently takes.
The new app will take a few seconds and the data collected will help with investigations.
"I think we'll see the number of calls reported to the commission jump up, which will help our investigative work and help us crack down on these predatory telemarketers who are just worrying people to death," he said.
The app will be free to all smartphone users.
