TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) – A positive identification has been made after human remains were found in a burned vehicle in Verona.
Lee County Coroner Carolyn Green confirms the remains to be Jay Hill, 33, the son of a Corinth alderman.
On September 14, Lee County deputies found a burned vehicle in a farm field in Verona. Human remains were found inside the vehicle.
Hill was last seen in the Tupelo area on August 9, according to Tupelo police.
Hill was reportedly traveling to the Memphis area in a silver 2006 Lincoln Navigator. His mother, who was expecting him in Horn Lake, said he never arrived.
