PONTOTOC COUNTY, Miss. (WTVA)- Three people face several charges after leading law enforcement on a high-speed chase.
Mississippi State Troopers pursued a black Jeep SUV on Highway 278 Friday.
Sergeant Gary Stanton said a trooper followed the driver of the SUV going 93 miles per hour.
The driver refused to stop or pull over, said Stanton.
After leading Pontotoc police and state troopers on a chase for 20 miles, the driver eventually crashed into a ditch.
Law enforcement recovered $3,000 worth of stolen items from a local hardware store.
Stanton said the Jeep was reported stolen from Alabama the day before.
Troopers arrested three people and transported them to the Pontotoc County jail.
They face several charges including: grand larceny, possession of a stolen vehicle, speeding, improper passing, failure to yield the right of way, reckless driving, failure to keep proper lane, failure to use signal, failure to yield to emergency vehicle and littering.
More charges are possible pending investigation by the Mississippi Bureau of Investigation, Pontotoc Police Department and the Oxford Police Department.
