TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - WTVA anchor Daniella Oropeza is among 11 participants in the 2021 Dance Like the Stars event.
These volunteer “celebrity dancers” will learn a professional ballroom dance routine alongside a professional partner from Tupelo’s The Dance Studio.

The dancers then compete against one another on the dance floor on Aug. 21 at the BancorpSouth Arena in downtown Tupelo.
The remaining 10 dancers are Miriam Anderson of Ripley, Alli Hodges of New Albany, Nancy Maria Balch of Oxford, Brooke Burleson of Tupelo, Dr. Laura Marion of Tupelo, Trish McCluney of Tupelo, Victor McMillen of Tupelo, Dr. Gabe Rulewiz of Tupelo, Demetra Sherer of Tupelo and Joe Washington of Tupelo.
The event benefits the Boys & Girls Clubs of North Mississippi.
The dancers will also raise money individually for the cause. The dancer who raises the most money will be named the event Grand Champion.
Previous participants include WTVA anchor Emily Leonard (2013), WTVA meteorologist Joel Young (2019) and WTVA reporter Wayne Hereford (2018).
