TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - More arrests have been made in connection to several burglaries in Lee County.
On Tuesday, Lee County and Itawamba County sheriff’s deputies used a search warrant at a home on County Road 1282 in Lee County, which is near the Tombigbee State Park.
They found several items reportedly stolen from locations in Lee and Itawamba counties, including items from the Mantachie Fire Department.
Officers made two arrests.
Trey Carpenter, 33, and Christopher Rhea, 40, both of Tupelo, face receiving stolen property charges.
Carpenter also faces possession of stolen firearm charges.
According to the Lee County Sheriff’s Department, multiple people at the home previously lived in the “tent city,” which was removed from the Auburn community in July.
Investigators are connecting these two new arrests with previous arrests made for burglaries in Shannon and Nettleton.
There have been at least 11 arrests made in the investigation, and more arrests are expected to be made.
