House Majority Leader Kevin McCarthy's office in California was vandalized and equipment was stolen Saturday, the Republican congressman said.

In a post on his Instagram account, McCarthy published pictures of the two men he claims "threw a boulder" through the window of his Bakersfield office and a picture of the resulting damage.

"Does anyone know these two guys? They threw a boulder thru our office window and took office equipment," McCarthy wrote Monday.

CNN has reached out to McCarthy's office and the Bakersfield Police Department.

McCarthy told Fox News that he was not in his office at the time of the break-in.

"I don't know if this was politically driven. It might be driven more just from the idea of stealing in the office," McCarthy said in an interview with Fox News Tuesday.

The photos of the two individuals were pulled from security camera footage.

McCarthy said he posted the photos asking the community for their help and "to make sure we're a little safer."

Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer pointed to CNN's reporting on the vandalism against McCarthy's office along with the news Tuesday that an explosive device was found in the mailbox of billionaire Democratic donor George Soros' New York home as proof that both parties are being targeted by political violence. A law enforcement source told CNN that the package was rendered safe.

"Make no mistake: Despicable acts of violence and harassment are being carried out by radicals across the political spectrum—not just by one side," Schumer said in a post on Twitter. "Regardless of who is responsible, these acts are wrong and must be condemned by Democrats and Republicans alike. Period."
