GOLDEN, Miss. (WTVA) - Many companies are continuing to search for new people to employ.
"We're short-staffed," explained sewing operator Linda Ewing of Golden Manufacturing.
She said the shortage is why the plant's product output is behind.
With fewer employees available, there are fewer people to do the work.
Ewing has worked at the company for 45 years and is hoping it can get more people on staff soon.
"It's a very easy job; it's good work," Ewing said.
"COVID's hurt us a little," plant manager Tilman Floyd said. "We're looking for about 50 more employees."
The company makes uniforms for members of the military.
This involves a fair amount of sewing and stitching.
"Anybody — entry-level to skilled sewing-operators," Floyd said. "We've got jobs for anybody: laboring jobs, shipping jobs. Pretty much, anybody that wants to apply, we'll take."
Applicants don't need a degree or experience to work for Golden Manufacturing unless they apply for certain positions.
"If you don't know how to sew, we'll train you," Floyd added. "If you don't want to sew, we have other jobs available."
"We're looking for anybody that wants to work," Ewing said. "We need good operators."
The company is offering a $200 sign-on bonus. People can apply in-person or online by clicking here.
