(NBC News) - The Presidential Debate Commission has announced they will mute the opponent's microphone during each candidate's two-minute response during Thursday night's debate.

In response, the Trump campaign is calling the commission "biased," saying they're changing rules to "provide advantage to their favored candidate" and disputing the topics that should be discussed.

President Donald Trump (left) and challenger Joe Biden campaign as Election Day looms.

With polls now open in 37 states and his campaign lagging in the polls, President Trump reportedly wants to boost his rallies to five a day, telling campaign workers "People are tired of COVID. I have the biggest rallies I've ever had and we have COVID. People are saying whatever, just leave us alone. They're tired of it."

Democratic Vice Presidential nominee Kamala Harris, speaking in Florida Monday, slammed the president for not listening to scientists.

"[President Trump] denied fact, denied science, and lied to the American people," Harris said "So we know we need a change. And a change is coming."

Democratic nominee Joe Biden is warning his team against being complacent.

Polls show him ahead by double digits, but with tighter margins in swing states.
