JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - “Wear a damn mask,” is what the University Medical Center (UMMC) is saying to Mississippians.
UMMC Vice Chancellor Dr. LouAnn Woodward shared a graphic Thursday showing several ways the public can help the state and its hospitals reduce the number of COVID-19 cases in Mississippi.
“Wear a damn mask. Wash your hands. It is not a big deal. It is not political. Just do it!” is only one bullet point shown on the graphic.

The recent spike in cases in Mississippi has strained UMMC and other hospitals across the state.
State Health Officer Dr. Thomas Dobbs shared Woodward's stern warning saying, "Strong statements from a system under strain. Make sure the care is there when you need it!"
