AMORY, Miss. (WTVA) - Two elderly residents of a nursing home in Amory, who had tested positive for the coronavirus, died during the weekend, Monroe County Coroner Alan Gurley said.
The two women, both in their 80s, were residents at River Place Nursing Center. He said they died Saturday night.
Monroe County’s death toll is 13.
As of Monday morning, the state health department's website currently shows 9 deaths; however, the health department has been behind in reporting death totals.

According to the state health department, Monroe County is near the top in the number of cases reported and the number of deaths in long-term care facilities, such as nursing homes.
