AMORY, Miss. (WTVA) - Many parents have to rely on buses to transport their children back and forth to school.
Across the Amory School District, approximately 200 students ride buses each day.

This year’s total is down about 40% from last year.
Those students are broken up into 22 bus routes. Nineteen of those buses only have one child per seat. Three of those buses have two children per seat, mostly having siblings sit together.
All bus drivers wear masks and gloves.
When students get on their buses, drivers make sure students wear masks. They also encourage students to use hand sanitizer.
When drivers complete their morning routes, they start the sanitation process. They spray the entire bus with an alcohol-based cleaning solution. The drivers then wipe down all seats and handrails.
They repeat the process after their afternoon routes.
School administrators encourage parents to check their child's temperature before getting on the bus each morning. Staff members will check temperatures at school.
