JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) — The Mississippi State Department of Health recommended Friday that all Mississippi restaurants, bars suspend dine-in service immediately.
"This will in no way affect gas stations, pharmacies, grocery stores or food marts," said State Health Officer Doctor Thomas Dobbs.
Restaurants can still offer carryout and delivery service.
The state health department also recommended no one show up at weddings, funerals, church services and other community/social events if more than ten people are expected.
According to the agency, the recommendations are for the foreseeable future.
