STARKVILLE, Miss. (WTVA) - The City of Starkville passed a resolution on Friday, March 20 to prevent the spread of the coronavirus.
The resolution is in effect and will remain in effect until further notice.
For 30 days, all restaurants shall only serve food using drive-thru, curbside (only) pick-up or delivery methods. The public should not use interior or exterior dining or bar facilities.
For 30 days, businesses, clubs, organizations, places of worship, or other gatherings within the city’s boundaries must limit crowds or gatherings to no more than 10 people. This excludes essential services, including hospitals, nursing homes, health clinics, drug stores, pharmacies, banks, grocery stores, convenience stores, and gas stations.
The City of Starkville could issue a curfew or a shelter-in-place order if needed.
The Board of Aldermen approved the resolution unanimously.
