OXFORD, Miss. (WTVA) - The coronavirus has forced a local farmers' market to change the way it does business.
Chicory Market in Oxford is where people can buy home-raised vegetables. The market has been getting a lot of business lately.
Owner John Martin said the market’s local connection is key to success. He said people are still coming to the market.
Martin said the change in the way they do business is because of the coronavirus.
He said the market switched to curbside service. Customers place their orders online or via a phone call.
A customer said the change is a welcomed relief from the hustle and bustle of big shopping centers. Machelle Williams said she buys her items every few days; she gets fresh bread, eggs, produce and local meats.
Martin and his wife said they plan to continue doing things just like they’ve been until the pandemic is over.
