TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) — One local urgent care clinic is seeing more older folks getting the coronavirus vaccine.
Nurse practitioner Lindsay Edmondson at MedPlus in Tupelo saw the increase after Governor Tate Reeves opened up vaccines to everyone 16 and older.
Edmondson said some younger people are not rolling up their sleeves to get the vaccine because they don't think they'll get the virus. She is now urging young people and all eligible people to get vaccinated.
“We have teachers come in that are younger or high risk patients but mainly still just seeing 40 and over," said Edmondson. "But I think we’ll probably see a change in that soon now that it’s 16 and over for anybody that wants it.”
Lindsey said MedPlus has offered the Johnson and Johnson vaccine for about two weeks now.
