TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) The Mall at Barnes Crossing reopened for business Tuesday but with measures in place to protect employees and customers.
The mall will be open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Monday through Saturday and from 12 p.m. to 6 p.m. on Sundays.
The new safety measures include hand-sanitizing stations, touch-free interactions, frequent and intense cleanings and social distancing directions.
"We are working diligently to provide a safe, clean environment where people feel comfortable shopping, dining and enjoying their time," posted to the mall's website.
WTVA reporter Chelsea Brown spoke with the owner of Reed's Department Store, which has a store inside the mall, about the reopening. Watch her story in the video above.
Currently, the food court seating area will remain closed. Food court tenants that choose to reopen will be available for carryout only.
The following features will be unavailable until further notice: valet services, play areas, stroller rentals and mall-operated carousels.
