JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 737 new COVID-19 cases and 4 new deaths Thursday, Sept. 24.
MSDH updates its case totals each morning based on test results from the previous day.
New COVID-19-related deaths reported to MSDH as of 6 p.m. Wednesday:
- Jackson - 1
- Panola - 1
- Scott - 1
One COVID-19 related death occurred on August 14, identified from a Tennessee death certificate report.
- Marshall - 1
As of Thursday, Sept. 24, there have been 95,310 total cases of the virus since mid-March, which is when the state reported its first case. There have been 2,874 total deaths.
The state health department estimates there have been 85,327 recoveries. The MSDH usually updates its estimated recoveries total once a week.
