JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) - The Mississippi State Department of Health (MSDH) reported 2,480 new COVID-19 cases and 28 new deaths Friday, Dec. 4.
New COVID-19 related deaths reported to MSDH as of 6 p.m. Thursday. Twenty-three deaths occurred between Nov. 26 and Dec. 3 in the counties below.

As of Friday, Dec. 4, there have been 161,516 total cases of the virus since mid-March, which is when the state reported its first case. There have been 3,916 total deaths.
The state health department estimates there have been 128,746 recoveries. The MSDH usually updates its estimated recoveries total once a week.
