JACKSON, Miss. (WTVA) — The governing body for Mississippi high school athletics released guidelines Tuesday for football, cross country, swimming and volleyball during the coronavirus pandemic.
Among those guidelines by the Mississippi High School Activities Association is mandatory masks for anyone entering a stadium or gym, regardless of whether it is a fan or someone working in the concession stand.
The football guidelines call for changes that will be unusual for players, coaches and fans.
For one, players and coaches may be allowed to roam the sidelines as far as the 10-yard line to ensure social distancing.
Also, players will not be allowed to shake hands, high five or fist bump one another.
And they should not share towels or water bottles.
