TUPELO, Miss. (WTVA) - One Tupelo icon is practicing safety guidelines through curbside service and minimal contact.
Johnnie's Drive-In has been very busy, especially around lunch time.
Restaurant owner, Don Knight, closed the drive-in for about six weeks because of the coronavirus.
The inside of the restaurant is still closed, but the drive-in service is open.
Knight says his employees frequently sanitize the kitchen and wears gloves, along with face masks.
Henry Humble is a regular at Johnnie’s Drive-In. He's grateful the restaurant is back open for business.
Knight says he’s grateful for his regular customers.
The restaurant opened in 1945.
It became a popular tourist attraction because Elvis Presley used to eat there as a kid.
